Guild Wars :: Rangers and Pressure April 23, 2006

Currently (At the time of this writing) in tombs the field is full of Ranger Spike, Necro Spike, Rainbow Spike, IWAY, and misc 2 – 3 Mesmer builds. Fun builds that win are fairly rare now.
Soooo the purpose of this post is to just show another build I saw run the other night that looked hilariously fun to run. The build consists of 4 Rangers, a Necro Monk, and 3 Monks. At first sight, I swore it was necro spike. But they had pets! And whats more!? 2 of thier rangers had Hammers!! Awesome o.o
Anywho, listing the build and how it runs.
2x Ranger / Warriors on Hammer. (Generically Labled as a Bunny Thumper)
Distracting Lunge
Ferocious Strike
Tigers Fury
Irresistible Blow
Hammer Bash
Comfort Animal
Charm Animal
Res Sig
2x Ranger / Mesmer (Interupt Ranger)
Incenary Arrows
Arcane Mimicry
Distract Shot
Savage Shot
Storm Chaser
Whirling Defense
Res Sig
Charm Animal
1x Necro / Monk (Tainted, Fiends, Corpse Control)
Tainted
Rotting
Consume Coprse
Well of Prophane
Bone Fiends
Holy Veil
Draw Conditions
Res Sig
1x Prot (Boon or other form of active prot)
1x SB Infuse
1x WoH
(Monk builds atm are very generic, so I’m not going through to list thier builds.)
The build runs by just having the 2 Interupt rangers go after monks, one on prot, the other on a heal monk. The two thumpers would go after Spirits, the last monk, or damage dealers of other team.
Vs Necrospike, just have all rngs on thier own necro, interupting shadowstrike as much as possible while shutting down thier spirit spammer as much as possible. Outside of that, it’s just on the infuse monk.
Vs Rng Spike, just shutdown thier mes/n or n/mo, the other interupter on thier bonder if they have one. Then split the 2 thumpers on thier rangers, if they whirling, even better for knocking them down. When you’re in control, spike on thier bonder if they have one.
Vs Iway, Keep spirits down, split the interupters on the 2 necroes, 2 thumpers changing targets quickly between the rangers and necroes killing whatever is convienent. The warriors should die by disease or something.
Vs Rainbow Spike, pressure normally, thumpers on thier dmg.
On relic maps rally with interupters, while free interupter on thier hex snare spammer if they have one. Thumpers on runner alternating knockdowns.
On Altar, Cap as late as possible but early. All classes on dmg negation on other team, then interupt other heroes when your ghost dies (Which will happen).
GvG Rally Flags with Interupters and stall out fights with dmg negation via knockdown interupts, go for kills early if thier def is weak, else just stall out for when both rngs are in fight.
With burning, interupts, knockdown, disease, and random clutter of pets, bonefiends, and more, this is a pretty high dmg pressure build.
So yea, have fun with this. Comments anyone? Just another week until Factions, new classes, and new skills.
